How to Plan a Fabulous Weekend Girls Trip

Planning a girls trip doesn't always have to be super luxurious! A quick road trip and weekend getaway could be all that you need to reconnect with your #girltribe and have a little fun!

My girls and I recently did a quick #roadtrip to Pennsylvania in the Pocono area and had an amazing time. Here are some tips for planning a great girlfriends getaway:

  • You MUST and I repeat MUST pick the right group of girls to travel with. You can have THEEEE best group of friends but not everyone is travel compatible. If you're the type that wants everything to be planned to a T and you travel with friends that just want to go with the flow.... that won't be fun. Or, if you're the type that prefers to keep things neat and your friends are super messy 👀... you get my drift. Ultimately, regardless of everyone's preferences, if you have friends who are willing to be flexible and have a good time, it will work no matter what.

  • You want to be clear on what everyone's budget is for the trip. Be sure to consider everything: meals, activities, etc.

  • Divide and Conquer on responsibilities. For example, if you're staying at an #airbnb and want each girl to bring drinks, snacks, etc. Decide that up front and be sure there is clear communication. Schedule a quick zoom call in advance to go over everything.

  • Make sure you all agree on the agenda so that there is something for everyone to enjoy or, if y'all decide to just make it a chill weekend of movies and pizza just make sure everyone is on the same page.

  • Make sure there's a discussion about outfits so that the girls can plan what they will wear. The last thing you want to do is have your girls come with heels and sandals and y'all planning to go for a hike! Also, you definitely have to be sure you get one coordinated look for a great photo! You can plan for matching PJs, or pick a theme color so that y'all can be fab on the 'gram! LOL

Here are some of the best airbnbs to look at for a weekend getaway in the PA/NJ area

  • This is the house we recently stayed at. We loved it. The kitchen had all the things we could have needed for a great stay. We were totally comfortable and the outdoor space was to die for. If the weather is great, you can eat on the outdoor deck and enjoy the quiet of the outdoors. The views were beautiful for a fall day.

  • I love this house! The decor is beautiful, there's a ton of space and all the amenities you'd need for a cozy getaway. My favorite area is the outdoor area with the firepit! Grab your graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows for a night of wine and s'mores!

  • This one I love because not only is it beautiful and has amazing views, but it's also close to Camelback Mountain! So if you're headed up to Camelback in the winter for a ski retreat, this place is only 15 minutes away!

Looking for a little adventure?

Pocono Outdoor Adventure Tours offers a fun outdoor UTV ride tour. Get ready for a scenic drive where you may get a little muddy but... it's all about the experience right? LOL. This is definitely a memory maker but not if you don't like to get down and dirty.

There's also Tree Trails Adventures if you're looking to do something that gets the adrenaline going 😳. I've gone zip lining once in my life and at this age and stage, my mantra is "been there, done that and lived to tell the story.." if this is your thing, it looks like tons of fun!

Depending on the size of your group, I'd say you could have a great weekend getaway for as little as $500/pp and up depending on what activities you decide to do.

Most importantly, don't get too caught up in the details that you forget the reason you're together, to bond, have fun, laugh, cry, dance, eat and drink!! Do I need to add anything else to this list??? LOL

Plan that getaway girl, you've earned it!
