Quarantine Date Night

Updated: Aug 24, 2020

Looking to do a romantic evening out on the town with your love???? Yea, ummmm those days are currently on pause. You can't even consider a date night without have to jump through hoops and hurdles just to get out the door!

First of all, trying to find a restaurant that is open, that has outdoor dining, etc is hard enough as it is.... Not to mention needing to find covid-free-childcare... I mean..... before you even think about a date night, you have to basically cure world hunger in order to get out the door. It's too much!!! 😫

However, despite the current #quarantine status, it's that much more important to create special times for you and your love. Otherwise, we'll all just lose our minds reliving everyday which looks the same as the last day.

So, when hubby and I had our 14 year anniversary in quarantine, we had to get reallll creative in order to feel like we had a fun date night. We did a few things that I think are easily repeatable for a regular date night at home.

First we ordered from our favorite restaurant. There's a place near us that's a Steak/ Seafood restaurant and we LOVE their food (just thinking about it is making me drool). The restaurant was offering special meal packages which included dessert and wine. So we ordered our favorite things, including all 3 courses and had them deliver it to the house.

You have to set the stage for a great evening. In order to do this, we carved out a space, set up the dining table with a nice table cloth, we broke out the good dishes 😂, put some candles on the table and just made it really nice. Hubby also created a play list and played some music through our bluetooth speakers.

Lastly, bribe the kids! LOL 😂, Yep, I said it - BRIBE THE KIDS! My husband promised them V-bucks (thanks fortnite 😒), fun times with their friends, extra screen time, late bed time... whatever it took to keep them from interrupting our dinner date. And it worked!! Ha! The kids stayed away and left us to enjoy our dinner date alone.

Finally, do something corny, like plan a question game. Despite how long you've been married, there's always an opportunity to get to know your partner. Spend time asking them questions and getting to know their thoughts about all kinds of things - travel they want to do, things they've learned in the past year, etc. etc. Or, just watch a romantic movie or a fun comedy. Whatever works for you.

The point is, do it! Don't let COVID stop you from enjoying your partner and creating memories and fun times with each other.

XO,

Absolutely Ayanna
