Selfcare Sunday - How to enjoy pumpkin puree without packing on the pounds

Updated: Dec 14, 2020

The highlight of November (besides my birthday) is Thanksgiving! It's a time for fun, family, friends and OF COURSE, good food!

As I was preparing for Thanksgiving, putting together my menu and shopping list, I came across the recipe on LaLaLisetter for a DIY Skin Brightening face mask and thought I should give it a try.

After reading the instructions, I added a slight twist to it. I decided to incorporate my Yelle Skincare Hydrating Serum. My skin during the fall and winter has a tendency to get very dry. So I wanted to be sure that while I was brightening, I also added some additional hydration to ensure a smooth finish to my skin after the mask.

So, here's what you'll need:

- Equal parts organic oats and pumpkin puree

- 2 teaspoons of honey

- Blender/ Food processor

- bowl

- spoon

- mask brush

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, grind oats until they turn into a powder.

  2. Combine pumpkin and oat powder. Stir until combined.

  3. Add honey and stir to make a paste. If too thick, add more honey or a few drops of water.

  4. Apply to clean face, avoiding eyes, nose and mouth.

  5. Leave on 5-10 minutes.

  6. Wipe off with warm, damp washcloth.

  7. Rinse face and follow with toner, serum, and moisturizer .

Besides it smelling delicious, my face was definitely more tightened and brightened by the time I was finished! You should certainly give it a try!
